Hornet Central
Hornet Central: An Early Arrival Option for Middle School Students
Program Details:
Hornet Central offers an inclusive, supervised, and interactive environment for students to begin their day. Students have choices for how to spend their time during Hornet Central:
-
Students can socialize, work on homework, play games, and prepare for their school day. Staff will be available to help with homework.
-
Students who would like a more active start to their day can play games in the gym or outside (weather dependent).
-
Opportunities for service projects, community involvement, student development, career exploration, and more will also be available throughout the school year.
At 9:00am, students will be dismissed from Hornet Central and the schools will be open for all students, allowing plenty of time to prepare for the 9:20am school start time.
All students must be registered and approved in order to arrive early to school and participate in Hornet Central. Full scholarships are available for families who qualify for tuition assistance. Please visit Financial Assistance for more information.
The program is organized as a partnership between Edina Community Ed, middle school building administrations, and the EPS Student Support Services department.
