Presidential Volunteer Service Award
Presidential Volunteer Service Award 2025-2026
Beginning in the summer of 2025, Edina Middle School students are eligible to earn a Presidential Volunteer Service Award. The Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) recognizes individuals whose service positively impacts communities. The program is led by AmeriCorps in partnership with certifying organizations like Edina Community Ed. Edina Community Ed facilitates this opportunity to encourage our students to become engaged leaders as they explore potential career paths.
Details
- This opportunity is available only to EPS middle school students entering grades 7-8 for the 2025-26 school year.
- Students planning to earn a PVSA with Edina Community Education as the Certifying Organization have one calendar year to complete their hours:
- Bronze Level: 50-74 hours in one calendar year
- Silver Level: 75-99 hours in one calendar year
- Gold Level: 100+ during one calendar year
- Students interested in earning this award will need to find volunteer opportunities, on their own, with organizations outside the school district. Arrangements for these volunteer opportunities are entirely up to students and their families. A list of resources available for middle school teens interested in volunteering can be found here: Volunteer Resources for Middle School Students: We are providing these links as a convenience, but listing the opportunity does not imply that we support or endorse the organization. We do our best to keep this list updated, but you will need to reach out to the organizations and verify information on your own.
