Benefits to Hosting a High School Intern  

Hosting a high school intern can be a mutually beneficial relationship for both the intern and the business. Interns gain valuable work experience and skills, while businesses profit from fresh talent, new perspectives, and increased productivity. Providing students with real-world work experience can help prepare them for future success. Internships also provide a great opportunity for businesses to develop and mentor future employees. Guest Speakers 

Come in to speak to high school students during their flex hour on Thursdays to share your experience in your given field. We are also hosting guest speakers at our early arrival program (Hornet Central) at both middle schools.   

Facility Tours  

Facility tours provide potential interns with an opportunity to learn about the company's operations, see different departments and teams in action, and get a better understanding of how the company works as a whole.  

Career/Job Fairs  

Attend our career and/or job fairs to give students the opportunity to learn about different companies and industries.   

Job Shadowing  

By spending time with a professional in a field that students are interested in, students can learn more about the job duties, skills required and education and training necessary.

What's the difference between a job and an internship?

A job is a paid position that is typically long-term, meaning that it can last for years. Employees are hired for their skills and experience, and they are expected to perform duties of their job independently.  

An internship is a temporary, supervised work experience that is typically offered to students. Internships are designed to give students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a particular field and learn from experienced professionals.
