Youth Skills Training Program

Youth Skills Training (YST) is a program that helps schools, employers, and community organizations work together to provide students with paid work experience in high-demand industries. YST programs provide students with related classroom instruction, safety training, industry-recognized credentials, and hands-on experience in fields such as advanced manufacturing, agriculture, automotive, health care and information technology.

There are many benefits to participating in a youth skills training program. These programs can help young people:

  • Develop the skills they need to get a good job
  • Earn industry-recognized credentials
  • Gain hands-on experience in their chosen field
  • Make connections with potential employers
  • Increase their confidence and self-esteem
