Accommodations & Inclusion

Edina Community Education is a place to belong. Every day, we strive to make our classes, programs, and events welcoming, supportive, and inclusive for all learners, including students who may require extra support to participate safely and successfully, Please see below for our accommodation processes for each program.

When submitting your school year or non-school day contract, please identify any needs or accommodations your child may require to be successful in the program. This can include any accommodations your child receives during the school day and/or medical diagnoses that require accommodations.
Our inclusion coordinator will reach out to you via email prior to the program start date to gather initial information through our Parent Interview Form. This form is also available on our links and resources list.
Our site specialists will reach out prior to the program start date to discuss specific plans and accommodations you can expect for your child in our program, as well as plan a site visit prior to your child’s start date, if appropriate.

When registering for an enrichment program, please identify if A.) your child receives accommodations during their school day and B.) those accommodations need to be replicated for your child to be successful in their enrichment program.
If similar accommodations are necessary, after registration, please submit a Parent Interview Form (the link is available during registration as well as in the links section). Our inclusion coordinator will review the forms and work with the Enrichment Team to determine what type of support our program can offer
